Longboat Key Dog

I shot these photos of this dog on the last day I was in Florida. I was driving around, lost, in Sarasota. I got fed up with getting honked at and then ran a red light, so I spotted a parking lot, pulled into it, and jumped out of my car to take a deep breath. After I calmed myself down, I grabbed my camera and started walking around and saw this dog, hanging out by himself. I just walked by him and went on looking for something to shoot, but about 15 mins later I passed by him again and decided to shoot a few photos. These are the results.

On Monday, the American Advertising Federation of Spokane picked a panel of three accomplished creatives, Mickey Lonchar – Quisenberry Marketing & Design, Ed Renouard – Renouard Communications and Sean Lumsden – Quinn Group, to discuss what makes Super Bowl ads greats or failures, trends, and how they have become a part of our culture. I always have a lot of fun going to the events that AAF Spokane puts on and walking away knowing someone or learning something new. Here are some of the photos from the event.

Tum Tum With Greorge Hughbanks and Tucker Richards

Early Saturday morning, I meet up with George Hughbanks and Tucker Richards in a store parking lot and headed out to Tum Tum, Washington, to shoot some photos of them climbing. Before we even got close to Tum Tum, George is already pointing out places where you can pull off the road and climb. If you were to say the name George Hughbanks to someone in Spokane’s climbing community, you would only hear positive things about him or ‘that guy climbs outside in the winter’. I was lucky to get to hangout with him in Tum Tum. It was like watching a kid in a candy store. Days like that day are what he dreams of, being out in nature, cool brisk air, no snakes, and a good place to climb. With a smile that seemed to never leave his face, he showed Tucker and I around to some of the places he or some of his friends developed. It was as if he showing us a garden in his backyard. Here are some of the photos that were shot throughout the day. I hope you enjoy them.

I don’t know about you but I really had a Great weekend. I hung out with an old friend, George Hughbanks, one of Spokane’s most inspirational climbers, and a new friend, Tucker Richards, out in Tum Tum, Washington. Sam, Teek and Tonga

I had a lot of fun on this shoot. A friend of mine, Sam Longanecker, had me come and shoot some photos of him and his two chow chows, Teek and Tonga. We wanted to play around on how the his head and his dogs heads intersected in the photo, like placing his dogs eye right in front of his eye. Take a look at the pics.

Two weeks ago I was out in Tum Tum and photographed the tree, that was in an earlier post. The real reason I was out there to shoot a Rock Climbing enthusiast, by the name of Jen Copley. She is so into to climbing that she drove to Seattle, knowing that one of the biggest snow storms to hit Seattle might be coming (in which it did, the day she arrived), to volunteer to belay youths in a tournament at Vertical World. It was definitely worth hiking up the the side of Tum Tum with about 60 pounds of gear to get these photos (I have a few more of another climber that I will post later this week). Jen is a true inspiration to the people that she comes in contact with, if not for the encouragement to send [finish] a route, but for her willingness to support any young, new climber; her positive attitude; or her love for the environment.

AAF Spokane 2012 ADDY Awards Call For Entries

Last Friday was the Spokane 2012 ADDY Awards “Call For Entries” party at nYne. People throughout our local advertising community braved the the sheer sheet of ice on the roads and the freezing rain to enjoy great food, a few drinks, a few games of horse or around the world, and to be around some of the best creative minds in the industry. West Coast Gelande Quaff Championships

The West Coast Gelande Quaff championship was held at Woodsky’s in Seattle, WA last Saturday. This marked the first annual West Coast championship and the 1 year anniversary of Woodsky’s. The Gelande Quaff is an obscure beer drinking game invented in Jackson Hole, WY by the legendary JH Airforce dating back to 1986. The winner of this years event was the Foggy Goggle who won a spot to the World Championships in Jackson Hole later this year. The event was a great success and fun to watch. Tum Tum Tree

I was tearing down my equipment from a shoot out in Tum Tum, Washington and saw this tree out in a field, overlooking Long Lake. Noticing that the fog was lifting and the light was changing at a fast pace, I pulled out my camera out and got off about ten shots before the opportunity ran out.
